Our program is dependent on our coaches!  Please consider signing up to coach.  All coaches are required to complete FBI Clearance, Criminal Background, and Child Abuse clearance.  Additionally, the completion of SafeSport, Concussion training and EPYS Risk Management course completion is required of all coaches.  Click below to register:

Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Rec MTSC Soccer Season:

Q:  Is there a way to play my child down an age group category?    

A:  We typically do not like to play children DOWN. If you have any questions, please ask before you pay so that we can assess the situation. 

Q:  When are practices?  What if my child is not available to practice on a certain night?

A:  Practice nights are determined by your coach. U6 to U8 practice 1x a week for one hour.  U10 to U19 practice 2x a week for 1.5 hours. You will learn your practice night when the rosters are sent out. 

Q:  What time of day are the games?

A:  U6 Coed and U8 Boys and Girls teams play intramurally.  The schedules are created by the MTSC Juniors Program Director.  Boys and Coed games are played on Saturday mornings between 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.  Girls games are held on Sunday afternoons between 1:00 and 3:00 pm.

U10 – U19 teams play in the Lancaster Area Recreational Soccer League and schedules are created LARS.  Boys and Coed (U19) games are played on Saturdays.  Most games will be Saturday mornings, but some teams may only have access to fields later in the day so there is the chance of an afternoon away game.  Girls games are played Sunday afternoons.

Q:  What experience do I need to coach my child’s team?

A:  None! We assign two coaches per team, and every effort is made to pair an experienced coach with a first-time coach.   Our Rec Director and Rec Coaching Advisor are available to answer any questions you may have throughout the season.  If you have any specific questions about coaching, please contact the MTSC Rec Director, Amy Piehl at mtscrecdirector@gmail.com .

Q: What if my child is too young to register for the Leagues?

A:  MTSC and Lancaster FC offers two programs for kids ages 3 – 4.  Details can be found in the Recreational drop-down menu under Lancaster FC Youth Academy.
